R.I.A. stands for RIA and Independent Advisors and we also go by our web URL name as well “4Advisors.org”. We started RIA to be an organization of common commraderie for advisors in which we could help each other build great practices and more effectively serve clients by sharing information, best practices, and even resources. Almost all of our resources, mentors, etc are donated through the philosophy of “pay it forward”. So if we help you and it is valueable then just donate back your time, experience and wisdom to help other advisors going forward.
In this way, we hope to slowly take back our industry (or totally separate it from the traditional financial services industry) so that we can create a true profession of financial advisors/planners by advisors and for clients. We believe that the path to do this is by helping more and more advisors to start their own RIAs to serve clients personally and directly. In this way, advisors can better serve clients’ needs, while retaining the fruits of their labors, make insurance and B/Ds subservient to us since we control the relationship and assets, and change our industry into a true/respected profession that enriches the lives of those we serve.

After leaving my insurance/broker dealer in Aug 2013 to start my own RIA, I made this organization and website after my horrendous experience. The process was full of trials tribulations, heartache, ultimate success, and fulfillment. RIA & Independent Advisors.org is an organization that is founded to help other advisors make that transition more smoothly so that they can unlock the true value of their businesses and create organizations that better serve the needs of our clients and fellow Americans.
